Reus Airport to Salou: the short hop a lot of budget flights land for
Reus doesn't get talked about as much as Barcelona or Girona, but it's the airport most charter and budget flights use for Salou, PortAventura and the rest of the Costa Dorada. The distance is small — about 10km, 15 minutes by road — which makes this one of the shorter transfers on this site.
The twist is timing, not distance. Reus is a seasonal airport in large part — flight frequency and the buses timed around them both thin out heavily outside summer, so what's a non-issue in August can mean a long wait at the curb in November.
In peak months there's usually a shuttle bus roughly timed to arrivals heading toward Salou and the PortAventura resorts, and it's the cheapest way to make the trip. Outside that window, don't count on it running often enough to be useful.
Taxis are readily available and, over a journey this short, the fare is one of the more forgiving ones on this site — not something to stress over even without pre-booking.
Rule of thumb: flying in peak summer, check the shuttle times against your flight and it'll probably work out fine. Flying off-season, or landing with a family and resort-sized luggage for PortAventura, book a transfer rather than hoping a bus turns up.
