Tenerife South Airport to Playa de las Americas: the easiest transfer on the island

Of all the routes on this site, Tenerife South to Playa de las Americas is one of the shortest and simplest. It's about 20 km, and on a clear run down the TF-1 motorway it's 20 to 25 minutes door to door.

The direct bus (Titsa's line 343) runs regularly between the airport and Playa de las Americas, and because the trip is so short, it's a perfectly reasonable choice even if you've got a couple of cases with you. It's the cheapest way to make the trip by some distance.

Taxis are plentiful outside arrivals and, for a journey this short, the fare is one of the more forgiving ones you'll find at a major resort airport. If you land outside bus hours, a taxi is usually the easy fallback.

The thing that actually catches people out isn't the airport-to-resort leg, it's the last few hundred metres. Playa de las Americas sprawls along the coast and some hotel complexes sit a fair walk from the nearest road a bus or taxi can easily reach, especially after dark with luggage.

Rule of thumb: for a short, well-served route like this, the bus is genuinely fine for most people. If you're landing late, staying somewhere a bit out of the way, or just want to be met by name at arrivals rather than figure out where the bus stop is, a pre-booked transfer removes that last bit of friction for not much more money.
